Textiles that cover beds, heads, floors, walls and babies.

From the stunning colletion of Vichai & Lee Chinalai, the Museum of New Mexico Foundation Shops present a special selection of Chinese textiles layered with meaning.  Vichai and Lee Chinalai have passionately collected antiques, textiles and treasures throughout Asia since the 1970’s. They are especially intrigued by functional and spiritual artifacts from Kampuchea, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and China. Their love of textiles brings them to the Museum of International Folk Art this weekend for a special show and sale of unique and rare items from South and Southwest China, including appliqué quilt covers, wedding and baby blankets, indigo batik covers and much, much more. Their museum quality selection is world renowned and the opportunity to view and purchase one of a kind treasures and speak with them is amazing! In conjunction with this special event, view the museum’s latest exhibit, Quilts of Southwest China.

August 4 to 6 only!
