Annual celebration of the duality of life and death. Altars, art making, refreshments and music all FREE courtesy of the Friends of Folk Art of the Museum of New Mexico Foundation
Enjoy live music by Lone Piñon on the hour.
Altars on display, visitors are encouraged to bring a photo, flower, or memento to add, and write a leaf for the Cosmic Tree of Life that is part of the Community Altar.
Family activities include Decorating Sugar Skulls ~ Calaveras de Azúcar, Calavera Face Painting, create and print festive symbols at the Flower & Song Flor y Canto Hands-on Art Station.
Sample Traditional Mexican Treats, pan de muerto and hot chocolate. Costumes are encouraged, not required.
Admission is FREE for EVERYONE!
Daily Walk-In Docent Tours
Our docents open up the world of folk art and the history of the museum to you. No reservations are required for docent tours, which are available:
