Plateau Bag
This bag, with its brightly colored design, is part of a centuries-old tradition of durable and practical twined bags common to the plateau region of British Columbia, Montana, Wyoming, Washington, and Oregon. The bags were made in a circular form so there is no seam, which is one of the secrets of their strength. This example fits the aesthetic preference for an orderly design made up of individual but related elements that could be separated horizontally and vertically.
